Anyone watch Global Rally Cross?
Discussion
Round 2 is on youtube for those that haven't seen it:

Being based in America it isn't 'global' but is it even rallycross? It is all on tarmac, although the X-games round might have some dirt, and the tracks are a bit mickey mouse.
And that jump...

Just finished watching this round, much better than the first round at Charlotte. I think I like it so much because it's got so many people in it that I respect, pastrana, block, mirra, millen, foust. I would love for this to come to the UK, would definitely go and watch it.
The cars are ridiculously quick!

They could do it at Rockingham, if you're using the USA's ideas for it. Interesting to see how the Americans take something and try to make it their own. Some good names in it, Gronholm, Foust, Block, Doran, Pastrana etc.The cars are ridiculously quick!
Maybe not one for the purists, but I kinda like it. A good stadium sport.

Rallycross is about Winter, snow, mud, unseasonal sunshine, dust, freezing winds, pouring rain, mad cars, Croft, Lydden Hill, Blyton, Brands Hatch before Palmer went grass seed crazy, ex Group B cars, derestricted WRC cars, Stock Hatch, Minicross and many other delights. It is not Ken sodding Block, some ex BMX'er or other, Travis Pastrana and his self publicity machine, a NASCAR support event, yee f*cking ha boys, moonshine smughling, half arsed tracks, a "Global" championship like the Baseball World Series (haha!) , artificially wet tracks or silly jumps.
If anyone wants to see Rallycross, there are plenty of UK events. The Circuits will welcome the support.
X-Games should be worth a watch. Gronholm v Loeb allover again.

This was definitely not a corner to cut for Marcus Gronholm... Ouch!
Comprehensively outdone by Toomas Heikkinen though... These man-made jumps they've been using have looked remarkably dangerous - a few broken cars at the last round I watched, and this was a lot more serious (he ended up with a broken ankle).
