European GP (valencia) anyone going?
Discussion
I thought i'd start something similar to the canadian thread, i'm off to valencia for the euro GP. Never been there before so just wanted to hear from anyone thats been before with any advice on attending and also where is good to eat/drink locally and also what might be worth doing. I started something in the holidays section but thats not getting much interest, hoping for better here. I'm waiting to find out if i can get my hands on some paddock passes through work as we sponsor one of the teams so will post some pics if i'm lucky!

But Valencia is probably the poorest GP of the season.
I went last year and it was extremely dull to watch. Was considerably less going on than I expected too. The GP at Catalunya is 100x better imo. I love that track.

ut i'm not going just for the GP, its also a holiday, i know its not the most exciting race, but i'd still watch it if i wasn't on holiday and at home. When you went last year were there any places to eat and drink that you would recommend or places to visit?
Fair enough, I'd still recommend Catalunya over it as you can stay in Barca which is a nicer city imo
When I was in Valencia we spent the majority of time in the bars next to the beach, just up from the track. Was good but beer is bloody expensive there! Think it was €7.50 a pint in the track. There was also no shade in our stand and it was about 40 degrees! Have a good trip

heers, will try to, i've had my paddock passes pretty much confirmed so looking forward to it! Fingers crossed the race will be better than the last few years. Was suprised about the tickets, £250 each and all you get is a slip of paper with the logo in 3d?
That's all you tend to get with tickets to any race, I didn't even get a piece of paper with a fancy logo for the Malaysian GP tickets I got this year! Where are you staying in Valencia? Don't make the same mistake we did when we went, booked an apartment off booking.com and went off the map. It was bang in the city centre, and the apartment was brilliant, but it was in a less than desirable area! I hope they have renovated more around the circuit this year, the bottom half of it is just surrounded by derelict buildings. Wasn't the image I had in mind for the Valencia GP.

Best Valencia race ever.
This modern version of F1 is so tedious.
I agree on both points. I can't believe I didn't go this year This modern version of F1 is so tedious.

I also had an invite into the Williams pit garage with my friend but for some stupid reason I thought after last years boring race I'd go to a different GP instead

And yes, I agree F1 is becoming s
te with all this fake overtaking and dull tyre management
