Di Resta vs Hulkenberg

Article on AutoSport. I've not read it (havent subscribed) but it reminded me, these two I was most looking forward to watching this season - and I've paid them absolutely no attention at all.

Anyone have any thoughts?

They both seemed to have genuinely quick cars at Monza and neither did much with them. I'm not sure what the big fuss is about Di Resta, he just seems to always do an 'ok' job to me.

I'm feeling the same about Di Resta. Way too much hype. Although he was pretty hot in DTM.

Sick to depth of him being interviewed constantly by Jake and co too. Always forward straight over that bit!

Di Resta is a proper corporate drone in interviews. Dont get me wrong, I admire how professional he is, but christ.

I get the impression he's the same on track. Just getting the job done as clean as he can, which never did Rosberg any harm.

Di Resta has had 7 points finishes - that's more than Perez, Kobayashi, Grosjean, Massa, Hulkenberg, Maldonado and only one behind Button. Unfortunately for this argument it's the same as Schumacher and Senna who haven't stood out either.

Despite the Hype about the Force India I just don't think it's that good. They've tried various strategies and can't get them to work that well. On that basis both drivers are doing quite well. Di Resta did seem to have the reliability worries until the Italian GP but they are picking off points which are important to the mid pack teams.

Both are decent drivers in a weak car this year. I've thought the hype over DiResta had been excessive, and he's done little to warrant it. Sure, he's a solid driver, but is he more than that? I don't think he's done much to show it, although he's had a few moments this year that have hinted at something more. On the other hand, I really rate Hülkenberg. He's struggling to show it in a crappy car, but he's shown more flair than DiResta when given the chance. I'd love to see him team up with Button at McLaren next year, but sadly suspect that's unlikely.

A lot of the time, especially with Di Resta, they leave them out to go a pit stop less, so with the tyres shot they can't defend the place they've got upto.
