Motorsport Memories - can you share one?
Discussion
Hi
PH ran a news item on our work a couple of months back. We use archive images, reports & memorabilia to run reminiscence activities with older sports fans living with dementia & depression and have just launched a project across 15 homes in Leeds - Harewood Hillclimb are among those helping the project.
The network has been fortunate to have gained the support of the likes of Ross Brawn, David Coulthard, Lee McKenzie, Karun Chandhok and Maurice Hamilton since launch and they've shared some terrific memories of their own. The latest one comes from Guy and Sean Edwards, the first father and son story which covers Guy's role in helping Nicki Lauda at the crash scene in Germany and Sean's role in Ron Howard's movie of the crash. http://www.sportingmemoriesnetwork.com/latest-smn-...
In training care staff and volunteers to run activities, not all of them are sports experts, one resource we have to help them is a suite of sites where fans of Motorsport, Football, Rugby, Cricket, Golf, Athletics and Tennis can share their own memories, which care staff can then use to help them with the sessions.
If you have 5 minutes to spare, would you share a memory in support please?

Thanks PH'ers,

I live in Leeds and have tremendous enthusiasm for motorsport generally. Is there any way I could help with the project? Drop me a PM if there's anything I can do.
Hi, Fab. Will PM
There's an in-depth feature on the project in tomorrow's Yorkshire Evening Post
Spotted your username, we've got 20 minutes of an interview with Helen Bashford-Malkie of Chevron Racing to type up for the site still from time we spent with the BWRDC
If you have any memories to share, no matter how brief, all are gratefully received
