Suzi Perry to replace Jake Humphrey?

The Daily Telegraph is reporting today that Suzi Perry (ex-presenter for BBC on MotoGP) is in with a strong shout for being Jake's replacement.

What do we think?

I always thought Suzi was brilliant on MotoGP.

If they were going to do that I think Charlie Cox would be the better choice to be honest, he's good with bikes and he used to be really good with the BTCc coverage when the BBC had that.

Yeah ectopic pregnancy I think, be great as she certainly has enough about her to present F1, is she doing anything else at the moment as she doesnt seem to be doing the gadget show any more?

It's got to be Lee McKenzie, neither Suzi Perry or Mark Pougatch (both are mentioned in the article) have been around F1 in the last few years so won't have the instant media relations with the teams.

Sure you could say that Jake Humphrey hadn't been around F1 but neither had pretty much all of the F1 staffers (apart from EJ, DC & MB) when they got the broadcasting rights off ITV.

Lee can get some great answers off the drivers, especially Vettel...

To a large extent, getting interviews, etc is about the name on the microphone you're holding and not who you are as a person.

If they brought Perry in, she would pre-meet all the teams' PR, etc so they know what she's doing. They would make sure she gets driver access at GP weekends.

Gone are the days (to an extent) of it being who you know not what you know.

She was good on the MotoGP. I haven't watched BBC coverage since it all went over to Sky so would prefer her on there!

AIUI part of the reason why she quit the MotoGP coverage was because she was sick of all the travelling, so I can't see it happening myself unfortunately.

Given that tragically the BBC has the live feed for MGP I am forced to listen to this moronic drivel, whilst he parades around the worlds premier motorcycle pitlane wearing a BRDC cap on a regular basis. The same BRDC who own Silverstone and really have never demonstrated to me as an attendee of multiple motrocycle races over many years at their 'home of motorsport' one iota of respect for a motorcycling race fan or the sport, just the gate receipts.

The bloke is an incompetent tit of the highest order and please, PLEASE, I beg you not to send him to F1, just get rid of this stain on BBC's generally excellent coverage of MGP and F1 completely. F1 has actually been alright over the last season and therefore don't ruin it with this lame, tired ex-not very good driver.

Also, I just imagine the F1 lot won't give him the time of day. He's thinks he's a clever so and so and in that pitlane, I imagine he'll get found out as a front man . . .

+1. Find Cox and Parrish both fking annoying. Cox with his pathetic repeated phrases, and Parrish with his constant reminders about when he was riding in GP500 and how much better bikes are than cars ect. ect.. nobs.

Please no - she is good to look at but awful at the job. The drivers lately have been very curt with her and tend to run away when she approaches. I get the feeling it's more of a fame thing rather than a genuine interest in the sport.

DC and Eddie bimbling about just wouldn't work, they need a Jake replacement and a fresh outsider again might just work.

If I were Lee McKenzie, I reckon I would feel a bit hard done by if I was passed over for a newcomer having been the stand in etc and been the 'obvious' successor.

Perry would be a good presenter. Cox would not be a good presenter.
