Paddy Lowe to Mercedes
Discussion
So rumours now circulating McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe is heading towards Mercedes. Good news for them I guess, and a bit of a blow for McLaren.
I think, with all these acquisitions I've finally sussed Mercedes strategy to win though: employ everyone so the other teams have nobody to work for them.

It would be odd if Brawn goes - I actually thought one of the good reasons that Lewis went to Merc was so that Ross could put his arm around him and give him that "support" he needs. Much like the Schuey/Brawn partnership.
But it would be a great prize if Mclaren snapped Brawn up - but would he fit the Mclaren structure ??

BBC F1 chief analyst Eddie Jordan, who has broken two major Mercedes stories in the last three years - with their signings of Schumacher in 2010 and Lewis Hamilton for 2013 - has independently also discovered the team's plans.
"Paddy Lowe is going to Mercedes and it would appear that Brawn and Fry are on their way out, and Lowe will be there in a very senior capacity," Jordan said.

I'd imagine Mclaren would sell what's left of the fanily silver to get Brawn if the rumours are true. Nice to see that Lauda's management tactics haven't changed much since he guided Jaguar to all that success.
Really? Why? Other than 2009 where he inherited the car, what has he done? I appreciate his history with Frerrari but I'm not sure he still has whatever that took, even if he ever had it. Perhaps that was more down to Todt than him?
oh.

Lauda was hopeless at Jaguar, seemingly deliberatly pitching employees against one another.
Toto Wolff has already said he wants to keep Brawn (Autosport) and he is a shareholder now I think (I am getting confused about what is happening!), not saying he is all powerful yet but his new influence must count for something. I am pretty sure most of the people last year are Brawn people brought in to build for this year.
I would think Lowe could fit in somewhere already...not sure where though as so many people being brought in last year.
Either way, somebody really wants shake things up over there! And it's not just Lauda either. Lets hope its for the best.

I think they'd be stupid to let Brawn go - he didn't have the budget to succeed, has spent the last year or so putting things in place for this year - wait and see what happens before you get rid.
having said that I can't imagine he would be too impressed by the way things have happened over the last few days. I wonder how much he's had to do with it.

Not sure we can assume there is no involvement from him, or that he is not in the loop and its some dark conspiracy. He may even be behind it all!
