Not seen any other threads on it but it looks like it's going to be a cracking championship this season!

More info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_British_GT_seaso...

Great selection of cars (BMW Z4, Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ginetta G50 + G55, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Porsche 997 GT3-R, Audi R8, McLaren MP4-12C)

Rounds at Oulton Park, Rockingham, Silverstone, Snetterton, Brands Hatch GP, Zandvoort and Donington Park

Live coverage for a couple of rounds on MotorsTV and Blundell in a McLaren should hopefully start to spark some interest.

Its looking fantastic this year, but already I can see that the British race dates are going to clash again, and it will be another season without being able to go see it frown

Looks like gt3 is proving to be a good formula in this country and in europe aswel. Great to see a wide selection of cars allthough a lot of to be confirmed drivers a far cry from a few years ago when the series was really struggling. Hopefully the bentley gt3 car can appear soon but a lot of the rounds clash with btcc which is a shame.

With btcc looking very strong this year sign that the money is back out there and people want to go racing looking to be a great 2013 racing season.

Would love to see it televised at a decent hour instead of sparrow's fart on a Saturday

The Ecurie Ecosse Z4 isn't on the list. I thought they said they were returning this year?
Also Barwell are meant to be entering at least 1 Aston for Abra and Poole.

There's always been loads of cars about, people are just now realising they may as well use them rather than sticking them up for sale and not selling them. Britcar grids will be up massively too this year.

It is a joint venture between Triple 8 Engineering and Optimum Motorsport. So the team name is 888Optimum.

This is the best comprehensive list of current entrys. http://www.dailysportscar.com/viewArticle.cfm?arti...

Going to be a strong year, some better TV coverage is planned also. Hopefully it has the chance to become the best series in the UK over the next few years.

Was speaking to someone who would know as such, at the autosport show last week.

Of course, he might be talking bks, but I doubt it!

Someone on the Britcar stand perhaps?

I hope you're right, but your reasoning behind it is frankly baffling.

^ I hope so. I enjoyed it last year.

Will check the dates for BGT, too. Would like to see a few of those as well.

Still needs a decent budget - I'm sure a season on British GT on team support, tyres, testing mist be £50-75k ?

Anyone know how GT Cup is shaping up this season? Last year's grids were generally disappointing but they've historically had some cool machinery out.

Last season's BGT final at Donington was absolutely awesome. Up there with Silverstone 2010 for best BGT race I've ever seen. Can't wait to see what this year offers, especially with teams like AF Corse coming in.

Agreed, and thinking about it my point might be more towards championships that run older cars such as Britcar, gt cup etc...

Good to see the numbers up anyway smile

Blimey! That's a juicy entry list!

AF Corse and Vita4one!

I haven't been to a race since the grid dwindled but I'm now looking forward to the enduros again.

That would get you a seat in a GT4 car.
