RST - Rally Sport Trainer - Engine upgrade !
Discussion
Hi all,
First post on this forum, so be gentle..
Mods - Please feel free to move this thread to a more suitable forum area if you think necessary.
We have a couple of Rally Sport Trainers that we are converting to a larger engine, and whilst we are doing a couple at the same time, thought it would be nice to cover the builds on a forum for all to see. Everybody likes a project!!
Some may remember these ex-Ford RST's from some time back, but we bought the lot from Ford. We've decided to take three of the cars and put a bit more power into them, only about double the brake horsepowers!!!
In all honesty, all of the development work has been done as engine mounts have been redesigned, rad and battery mounts have been designed as they've been moved to the front of the car for better weight distribution. A complete gear change mechanism has been designed to convert from the cables from the original g/box, to the shaft of the new gearbox, but all of this will be shown in what will hopefully be plenty of piccies.
Amongst other things, the cars will be fitted with Quaife ATB diffs, and Gaz shocks with adjustable turret tops for camber/bump etc...
Keep a look in, I'll try and post pics whenever I can, hopefully starting today...
JB.
