the steepest gradient

Just a general wondering really..
I was thinking the other day of gradient changes on UK race circuits and am assuming the mountain at Cadwell park to be the steepest gradient on a uk track? Does anyone know what the gradient actually is or whether there is infact somewhere steeper? I was just thinking circuits, I am assuming some hillclimbs are likely to have steeper sections than cadwell.

Highest to lowest point on the circuit is probably Knockhill. I don't have any data for the circuit on this PC but the steepest gradient is def paddock hill
Brands highest point is 120m (on the straight) above see level and the lowest point of paddock hill it 100m - which then raises to 122m in Druids. It's about 1/5 drop and a 1/4 rise
Steepest gradient elsewhere - then it's the Corkscrew in Laguna Seca.

I used to ride my bike down the hillclimb as a kid, (parents lived nearby and it was/is a public right of way) My brakes failed at the bottom 's', i still have the scar to prove it! It's much steeper when you are on track than it looks from trackside. Quite incredible that the record is around 22 secs and they touch 150mph over the line.woof said:

I dont have data but knowing from walking/running it countless times the high point is just short of the beatsons bridge on the main straight and the lowest is at butchers. Would have a guess at the climb from butchers to chicane being 1 in 5 and the drop from duffus to leslies (the kink) must be 1 in 4. suffice to say from the apex of the curve you cannot see the bottom, it is like driving off a cliff. One of the things that we do regularly is go out on track to get a drivers eye view at certain points and that involves sitting on the tarmac (track is dead of course) and the amount of blind places due to gradient is scary, sorts the men from the real men
