Filming with a GoPro, what settings?

Quick question to the PH massive ;-)

I've got a couple of GoPro's and I'm going to use them incar and on the car for an upcoming test. Are there any professionals that can give me a definitive answer about what formats to use? Is the 1080-30 at 170 degrees just the best to use by default and then drop down to 720-60 for any slow motion shots?

At 1080-30 mounted on a rear wing make everything look very distant and in a gold fish bowl and what about pit garage shots with a smoothie mount, 1080p again?

I haven't got time to go out and test it out so I'm relying on those that know :-)

Might be worth taking them out for a test run on each setting prior to when you need it so you can decide?

Thats what I did with mine to decide, however I was diving with mine rather than driving.

I tend to use 720 - 60 for driving. I don't need it any clearer than that. Don't forget to change the settings if you use it inside the car so that it focuses out of the window. I can't remember off the top of my head what the setting is called though!

Resolution is really down to your own preferences (I mostly shot 1080p30 with my old one, but I'll be trying a few different settings with the new Hero3 black in a couple of weeks time), however one thing to note is that if it is in the car you really ought to make sure that it is set to spot metering.
