I don't know why they would hire him again, he beat Di Resta a few times but I don't think he is much better than other mid-field drivers. Bianchi hasn't glassed anyone, either.

I totally agree though, would much rather see a new 'hot-shot' in the seat.

The situation sums up Force india as a whole for me. Since Fisichella left after some decent(ish) results in 2009, they seemed to lack a direction. I can't really remember anything noteworthy they have done since then. Sure they "exist" on the grid,but i wish they could get out of the mid-pack no-man's land sometimes like the Jordan of Old. Are they destined to just pound around the races forever?Diresta has not exactly set the grid on fire...and Hulkenburg has buggered off to Sauber. I doubt Sutil will change anything.

Despite what they say, FI must be in dire financial trouble. What they need is solid regular points in a midfield that's tighter than ever - Sutil will do that (like Diresta) whereas a rookie probably won't.

As one of the journos said on Twitter yesterday, FI don't need a superstar, they need points from race 1 onwards.

Good point, very stiff competition for any midfield points this season, if Force India have been restricted with development budget they will certainly fall to Mercedes & Sauber which, barring retirements, are all the points on the board gone. Plus we have a good looking Toro Rosso. Tricky.



Taking a quick look at the future of Di Resta. With McLaren & Red Bull seats pretty much off the cards and unlikely to get into a Mercedes any time soon, it may be 'good news' for him if Sutil got the gig thus offering a better opportunity of a Ferrari drive over a 'none-raced' Bianchi. A few straws being clutched but the boy needs a paddle to escape the sinking ship.

A one year deal? Is Bianchi confirmed as test driver? If so, I think they have done a deal with Ferrari for 2014, potentially a decent length one too. I expect to see Bianchi in that car in 2014 for 2 years with options.
