Tribute to 'Ginny'; Sir Frank Williams' beloved wife
Discussion
As reported on James Allen's site this morning, it is with great sadness that I have learned of the death of Lady Virginia Williams, wife of Sir Frank.
Known to many as 'Ginny', she struggled bravely in her two and a half year battle against cancer, ultimately losing it, as I understand, last night.

I extend my condolences… and very best wishes, to Sir Frank and his family…

Oh my god, that is terrible news.
I cannot recommend enough her book "A different Kind of Life" and I'd urge any F1 fan to grab a copy, it's a cracking read though you do have to remember it's her book and not Frank's. Every fan should read it though as a reminder of how racing used to be, and to see what a dynamic man Frank Williams is.
Terrible news though, very, very sad. RIP indeed.

Thanks, HeebeeGT. And you're right. Your positive statement is a reminder to us all that the greatest respect is to be remembered for one's life, rather than one's death. After all, I have not the slightest doubt this is how Sir Frank will see it.
Thanks for putting this into perspective.
Very sad news.
I have not read her book and know little of the lady but can only imagine how strong she must have been to stand by Frank after his accident, not to mention through all the scrapes and hardships of his work, as well as the good times. The racing wife is a breed apart and she has to have been close to the top of that tree!
Condolences to all the family.
Rest in Peace.

Indeed I've also read her book and its a powerful read.. a very strong woman, so sad to see something like cancer take her at a relatively young age..I cannot recommend enough her book "A different Kind of Life" and I'd urge any F1 fan to grab a copy, it's a cracking read though you do have to remember it's her book and not Frank's.
