Challenge Car Brakes ...340mm Rota's Solid Rears and .
Discussion
Hi there
I am getting to the point where I need to think about brakes for my challenge car.
I have the opportunity to obtain a set of AP front aluminium bells and rota’s discs these are the 340mm grooved ones, still in original packaging, thinking about getting these and using my cerbera “6-bolt” four pot callipers
Part of the deal includes a pair of the original rears…these are the solid rota’s with a pair of brand new “offset” callipers ….BUT there are no bells with them…
Questions:
1.Do you folks use the solid rear grooved bells and rota’s?
2. Are the 340 vented grooved bells desirable or not?
3. If I go this route does anyone have a pair of bells to match this set-up for the rears....cheap!
Thanks in advance
Before all of this happened I was going to use a set of cerbera discs (I have a mint set of rears with again newish callipers) I was going to get them re-drilled...which I will need to move on…might still go this route depending on what I see on here!!!
ps I know there is sa set of rear calipers and rotas and bell on ebay...these are not the ones I am talking about buying...

Thanks chaps....split really looks like I will be getting the 340mm jobbies...just want to make sure my cerbera 450 calipers will fit the rota if I space it...
Suppose I could move the solid rears on and go griff chim with thye integral handbrake getting the pcd changed on the vented griff disc....
I am taking my calipers along to see if they will cover the braking surface area...

There were 2 options on the rears
Early setup was vented disks and 4 pot calipers
Later was a solid disk and 2 pot calipers
To save a bit of weight

Thought it would have been the other way round...interesting....if I had a pair of bells for the solid rears I'd probably go that way... sort of keeping it challenge car focused...

Good to talk yesterday mate...picked up the discs and bells last night....still got all the packaging addressed to Colin Blower..the rear calipers haven't seen brake fluid....and the rear rotas have a grove on the outside edge which lines up with the calipers...still need rear bells to make them work tho..Early setup was vented disks and 4 pot calipers
Later was a solid disk and 2 pot calipers

Also my front cerbera calipers lok like they will work with the front discs (i.e. there is sufficient clearance and the pad contact area appears to work too...phew!
Anybody want to buy a set of "mint" rear calipers and discs for a cerbera?
