I'm an optimist, and welcome anything that promotes our sport.....
But I do have fears regarding this.
The cars are GP2 quick, so any street circuit will have to be FIA standard. This costs millions. London?Paris? Street circuit? Next year!
At best, I can see it taking place as a sideshow on established street circuits such as Monaco or Pau, or Brands Hatch rebranding itself as a London venue for 2014, but I just can't see a European city having days of disruption to host a couple of 45 min races.
If the show rivals F1 it will be lobbied to the margins by Bernie.
It doesn't prove the benefits of electric cars over other fuels. Nissan racing at Le Mans next year with a pure electric car does, as does GreenGT's hydrogen powered project this year.
Having said that, any high profile championship that brings motorsport to new audiences and provides those drivers that have failed to make F1 with an oulet for their talents (a gap in the market that has been missing since A1GP ended) is a very good thing.

Sorry, another ref to the electric nature of the cars and the OP asking if it would be Free To Air or Pay Per View.That said I understand that they are having concerns about the ability of the batteries to last a whole race and there was talk of pit stops involving batter changes which isn't really the best advertisement for a 'Green' series promoting the use of electrickery are an alternative road fuel...

It's even worse, the original plan was to have each driver use two cars and switch half way through the race!
