Okay so we have the F1 GP this Sunday and the Indy 500 which I am sure you will all know about but that is not all there is to keep you out of the garden on this glorious Bank Holiday Weekend.

On Sunday we have 2 British F3 races and a 3 hour British GT race Live from Silverstone with some VeeDubs thrown in to add to the party.

British F3 has sadly become a shadow of its former self this year thanks to reasons that are as political as they are money based but at least we will still get a 4 round series and this is the first event on one of the few tracks that can produce an exciting F3 race. These guys are some of those most likely to be the next big thing and well worth a watch.

British GT this year has been real food for the soul for those who love their racers to have a roof! Big grids (I think I saw that there are 40+ cars out this weekend, the vast majority in the top GT3 class) and big GT’s. Porsche have lead the way so far this season but Silverstone will give many of the others a real chance to stretch their legs properly. Regardless of what the results tables have been saying though the racing has been hard and close all the way through the field. With 3 hours ahead of them you can be sure that there will be plenty of action. For those of you going in person there will also be plenty of time to see these beasts all around the track.

So you have finally finished the last Bud or Miller Lite after seeing Mr Sato win the Indy 500 ( wink ) and headed off to bed. Don’t forget that you have another day ahead of you on Monday with Motors LIVE from Mallory. Okay so you will not be seeing the same level of £350k+ cars as at Silverstone the day before but the racing proves 9/10 to be some of the very best you will see in the UK. The show starts at 1pm and if the weather is anything like the down pour I can see outside my window it gives you a great excuse not to have to go to the Garden Centre.

Enjoy all.

Don't forget GP2 as well.

I'm off to Silverstone on Sunday and can't wait. The last British GT enduro I attended at Silverstone was 2010. It ended up with Simonsen, Turner and Westbrook all converging on the same piece of track at the same time, right at the end of the race. An absolute thriller.

British GT is riding the crest of a wave at the moment. 48 cars entered for Sunday's race. And don't forget the Blancpain Endurance Series is there the following weekend too.

Truly, we are blessed.
