Blancpain/Auto GP No Friday access?
Discussion
Just had a look at this weekend’s timetable, Friday looks pretty busy with the 3 Auto GP sessions & the Lamborghini’s etc. Yet Silverstone website states there’s no public access that day, just wondered if anyone knows why?
Thanks

Just turn up and say your with one of the teams and drive to the paddock.
Doubt you'll have any issues
shhhhhhhuuuush thats my plan, my new car has lotus silverstone plates, lotus silverstone tax disc holder, lotus silverstone key fob and a outline of the track underneath the elise badge on the back, i'm hoping it will be enough to dupe the G4s staff. Doubt you'll have any issues

Whenever we test it's just drive up to the gates - give the universal sign that I'm driving (air steering) and off you go.

If you really want it to reek of genuine post-f1 'improvements' Silverstone qualities, you need to paint stagecoach stripes on it, fill the footwells with gravel, put a traffic cone on the passenger seat and a metal fence panel on the roof, close the windows and have the atmosphere sucked out of it. Then it will belong. And if you want to get to the media room, paint all the windows white so you can't see out.zebedee said:

and between the months of June and August slap a load of mud all up it and play a tape of BRDC excuses? WAAAAYYYYY ahead of you.

Did anyone give this a go? I couldn’t even get the day off in the end, so that was a none starter!
Read Hamilton & Stirling Moss was present that day as well which annoyed me a little. Doubt I would have met them, would have had a better chance actually being there though!
i used woof's technique and managed to park my car near luffield/national pits straight. The event was absolutely fantastic, i really enjoyed the support races and the 57/58 car blancpain field was something to behold! i would've thought Hamilton and Moss would have been at the BRDC building so you have no chance of getting to them, but to be honest if you wanted to meet drivers i met loads, Rast, Turner, Shouted some words of encouragement to Newey after he stacked his lambo on the warm up lap :s.
the race was dominated by the Aston, the Audi's sound great on the down change and the Z4's are the loudest.
