Whilst sat in my garden pear cyder in hand i was pondering how to make my car go even faster than it already does and a question popped into my head. Why don't Tuscan's use the rear anti roll bar ?I don't think anyone on here is using one, although i am about to start experimenting with mine.I think the road converted Cerbs are running one,but i just can't see what advantage Tuscan have not using them.

I disconnected my one from my road Cerb as have many others - cable tied up to the chassis! It was just too stiff at the back end and didn't give enough feel. I like to feel the rear end moving around wink . . . which is why I guess I prefer the non-aero set up I have on the Tuscan now to be honest Perry biggrin

I'm not taking the piss but have you thought about getting some instruction? Its probably the best and most cost effective way of gaining valuable time. It helped me no end . . . biggrin

Danny's aero Tuscan ran 1200 front 650 rear, no anti roll bar, we tried it and took it back off, no grip on the rear, some people thought we ran our car to soft but it was how Danny liked it.

I am sure He ran 1;08s at Coombe with the AJP ?

Aero's all about keeping level, just what an arb does.

there's a weight penalty with all the frame etc, so heavier springs may do better weight wise.

(and danny was doing 1.08 with a bust n/s/r damper iirc Craig wink Marc Hockin was doing similar with a wing and std springs so his @rse was on the floor. Both could have been in the low 1:07s i reckon. They were also fighting each other!!! clap )

This one is possibly better. shows Danny's low at Quarry, but also shows Marks leaning heavily and washing out mid corner.
Great battle.

Hi Keith
They changed to account for the wing.
Marc asked me at Combe as I'd done it with the Griff. Aero that is.

Must have gone up again as I advised 1000/800.
I took mine from the GTFs which was 1200/1000 at the time.

didnt the sags come back down from 1000lb rears, or uprate the damper mounts at least...

the first time out with 1000lb on the back testing at mallory and the mounts broke !! thats a long way from 400lb that we run!!

back to the arb question, its generally accepted on a normal tuscan that the rear arb robs too much grip the be useful, but on the aero car you the ride height is critical so its got to be worth a try as the increase in aero grip should more than compensate for the reduction in mechanical grip.

you would need to be careful on slow corners and off the line though...

if you put the arb on i'd want to test with some softer rear springs. to see if you can get a balance..

Its probably about time you thought about a roof too, to tidy up the airflow over the car.

I suspect your still going to get the tuscan doing odd things due to the roll centres, high at the front and low at the back.

Steves also said you need a roof for the aero to work on a Tuscan
It all depends what you want
Personally perry I wouldn't ruin that Tuscan of yours with a roof
Yes you would gain ,but IMho it is the best looking Tuscan out their
Keep it like it is and make the lost time up by getting extra tuition

Thank you all very much for the advise,i will let you know where i go next with it in the chase to catch Mark Hoc and Danny's time round Combe.New tyres for me now next time out in a few weeks.Don't think i will be fitting a roof,i have a very nice looking one i bought a couple years ago but at my age i find folding myself in half to get in just is not going to happen. As you say bill and glad you like the car as is, i will pick more speed up once i get properly into the back of the radicals and learn some tricks from some old dogs ( Sorry Mr Tilling )
