Agreed. At this stage, not a bad each way bet at all.

Unless Ferrari and Alonso shape up better over the weekend, I can see Alonso's odds being greater than the current skinny 3-1.

It's just a feeling based on how well I think the red bulls will go at silverstone and marks new found 'freedom'.

Ahah a hunch!.... Hunches sometimes pay off big time .

After Qualifying, despite the look of disappointment on Vettel's face after finishing third for the grid, on-line Bookies make Vettel far too short price favourite. There's always the possibility that the Mercedes~Benz team have at last found the answer to their race pace problems. They improve with each race this season. Could be a matter of time and come Silverstone, maybe their time has come ... I for one hope so.

Lewis H @ 7-2 from pole with team mate riding shot gun could be good value. Vettel @ 5-4 is not value in my opinion. Famous last words.

Already had some bets also based on a considered hunch. So, here goes :~

I'm betting on a Mercedes-Benz 1-2 tomorrow.

9-1 not bad odds for a Merc 1-2 in either order ( Dual Forecast ). Main win bet on Hamilton @ 7-2 FTW [ for the win]. He looks different class at Silverstone.

Vettel looked concerned immediately after Q3. I suspect with good cause. That "look" could be ...

No, but my 'hunch' suggests that they are closer to getting there. I really REALLY hope they have arrived. So looking forward with added interest to the race tomorrow.

I shall watch the race like a Hawk and if there are signs that my money has been badly invested, may have to have a covering bet as I did during Q3 on Hamilton before he became unbackable at silly odds-on. Vettel went out to 14-1 on some lists so I backed him again at those huge odds to small stakes. The fact that Vettel was only a small fraction in front of his team mate suggests two things to me. He made a mistake during his final run which cost time ... or, he didn't and the Mercedes-Benz cars are now the real deal at last. After McLaren the Three Pointed Star are my favourite team. Goes back to those now faraway schooldays of seeing Motor Racing with names like Fangio and Moss in those fabulous old Stuttgart silver-arrows jobbies. Always been an admirer of Ross Brawn too.

Qualifying suggests Ferrari, Mclaren and Williams are now sadly 'alsorans'...

Would the Red Bull pit crew have had data feedback that there was impending problems with Vettel's car in advance of it actually coasting to a standstill?

Here's why I ask.

Did anyone like me have some on-line bookies' in running odds available during the latter laps of the race? If they did, did you see how shortly before Vettel's DNF coasting to a standstill, Rosberg's odds tumbled quickly from 7, 6, 4 and 3 to 1 and last time I checked was 9-4 just before Vettels' car DNF-ed.

Was that pure coincidence or folks with access to some telemetry have a few quick bets being 'in the know'.... "Insider trading" ... if so ...

Nah. It'd have been a simple function of him being 12/1 (quite an outsider) and then being 2nd for a lot of laps, with people laying a lot of money on him because he isn't Vettel.

Well the 1-2 bet didn't come off but the Rosberg bet paid handsomely. On we go to Germany and nice odds for both Merc drivers. Bring it on. Ker Ching.
