Kobyashi trashes a F1 Fezza in downtown Moscow

The former Toyota and Sauber grand prix racer, now part of Ferrari's GT programme, was driving the team's 2009 F60 F1 car when he lost control on the wet surface and hit the barriers nearly head on.

But that did not end Kobayashi's participation in the day as Ferrari had brought a second car and was able to resume running within 20 minutes.

"The track was very slippery and there was a marked bump at that point, which is why I hit the barrier," said Kobayashi.

"A shame, but I am pleased the team let me out again after a few minutes."

McLaren, Caterham, Lotus and the Mercedes DTM team also took part in the Moscow event.

Found quite a few clips (of course where Russia is involved ) on youtube. This one definitely gives the impression he was "showboating" and just overcooked it.

I would hope he was showboating, that's what the crowd were there to see, not an F1 car being driven by Miss Daisy....

There is a big F1 promotion going on for the Russian GP, but odd as few people from Moscow will be heading down to Sochi for the GP. Weather in Moscow is usually grim in July as the city is built within a massive swamp area. More people are interested in the road cars with Ferrari and McLaren along with AMG doing good business and creating some great PR.

There was torrential rain at the WSB there today. Made a complete mess of the proceedings, alongside other stuff (RIP Andrea )
