Not really sure what to make of Todt's input on all things motorsport since the start of his tenure. It's certainly become a less controversial body (Bahrain aside) and lacking the all politicking shenanigans of the Mosely era but has he moved anything on to any great degree?

...Same, anything to do with Moseley worries me.
From my perspective the Todt era has seen the rise of other formulas, mainly WEC, which now has a much better outlook than in previous years, manufacturers are returning and big name drivers are entering endurance racing again. WRC, is unfortunately continuing to faulter but I think much of that is the inevitable result of many years of mismanagement which couldn't be put right in the current timeframe.
Ari might be a suitable replacement but David Ward I suspect really isn't. The Moseley years were only good to Formula 1 and even then he threatened to destroy that at the end.
