Chaps

being as we've heard lots about the merc and renault V6 engines for next year, but absolutly nothing about the ferrari one leads me to wonder

Are they actually going to do one? being as they have power to veto most things they could turn round and say 'sorry we don't fancy this ' and we're pulling out to do our own thing unless we carry on keeping the V8'

now this is obviously pie in the sky and rather unlikley to happen

but knowing Ferrari's history and how much this would hurt the other teams, it could give Ferrari that jump back to the top there's certainly precedent here

thoughts?

Well Sauber are due to sign a new engine deal with Ferrari in the next week or so, so I'd imagine they are building one or two at least.

Not to mention the deal they have already signed with Marussia

Isn't it the Ferrari V6T that rumour has it might not be that great (presumably power output)? Sky mentioned it over the weekend but I was only half listening.

Yup, rumour has it their power unit is down on power in comparison to Mercedes'. However, that could all be hot air.

As you say. It's rumours currently. We'll find out soon enough. Always figured Ferrari would have an advantage as Fiat and all subsidiaries have turbocharged engines but I guess the road/race divisions won't share much.
