Black Jack had undoubtedly fecked it before then. I got to drive the Aston he did the TdeFrance in and that had a knackered clutch as well

Indeed it was. My era for motor racing. Stirling Moss was certainly the most able racer I ever saw with the possible equal of Ayron Senna who was also an out and out " will win this" driver, Not noted for his nursing ability on delicate machinery, Driving seriously inferior racing cars Moss beat the finest in the World but lost out as the machinery failed under him. Interesting how respectful on of the greatest, Fangio was of the outright ability of Moss. Undoubtedly the greatest racer never to win a world championship.

Well it appeared in Moss's book "All but my Life" in 1963 so it's been around a while...
