I'm lucky enough to have been invited to the Autosport awards in London in a couple of weeks. Has anyone ever been? Good night?

I'm a huge motorsports fan so I'm hoping it'll be awesome!

Yes I have been a few times usually through work. The cars upon entering are quite a scene, F1, Rally WRC and Le Mans winners. It is a vast venue and you will see many of the top people there but they are not so approachable.....it is a very industry / sponsor / clique event.

Take a camera, have fun and remember tickets cost over £375 each.....for those paying. The awards are fun but no major afterparty!!!

The afterparty normally starts at Home House - or has done for the last few years.
Tends to get very messy wink

I went in 2011. Went with Johnny Herbert and spent the whole night majorly star struck. Got to have a chat with Vettel as he was sat by himself looking bored thought I'd go over and say hello he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. As above take a camera drink lots of champagne.

If you are paying then I would not bother. If you are a guets enjoy.

There is very much a tier of different tickets for the event and how much fun things are after the prize depends on who you are with or the quality of your ticket.

I've had the chance to go quite a few times but only ended up going once. Know a lot of 'regulars' but to be honest the one visit was enough for me as unless you are well connected with Haymarket or an F1 team you will find plenty of closed doors.

Oh and the food is dire as hell.
