Hymns sung before motor racing
Discussion
Afternoon chaps,
Not normally the area of PH I post in but was wondering if anyone could help?
I'm getting married this December and am beginning to think about hymns we'd like to use.
Seeing as most of those in attendance are car nuts etc was wondering if anyone knew of any hymns that are sung before motor racing events? Each year at Goodwood I know there is a blessing of the track.
Any feedback would be good.
Cheers

Not wishing to be disparaging - but if you don't even know what hymns are sung - why would you choose them for your wedding? I mean, if you don't even know them, why would they be 'special' enough to mark your big day.
Surely better to pick something which has some personal significance?

Well that's where I was hoping someone might help. There might be a hymn I know, and if that is the case it would be nice to use it knowing it is also used in/around a pastime we love.Surely better to pick something which has some personal significance?
If there isn't one we know then we will revert back to those we do.
Just looking for some ideas.
Just choose the ones that you like - and that mean something.
I chose 'The Lord is my Shepherd' - because it's a song that is sung by the crowd at West Brom (my team)
The other was 'One more step along the world we go' - because my wife and I really liked it, everyone knows it and the whole congregation can belt it out.
Pick ones you both like - and let that be the only basis for selection.

Imperial March

Went to a wedding once where the happy couple marched off to the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark. It was pretty cool, rather than the nerdfest that it sounds like.
Don't do religion, so can't help with 'hymns'. Soz.
