Brands modern classics
Discussion
Big thanks to all those that supported me today especially Boss racing for doing my Pit Board & John and the boys for the Pitstop, bitter sweat second place finish after starting 4th and getting into the lead by the fourth corner, stayed there for the first 13 or so laps and then did my pitstop only to come out behind the safety car and drop 40+ seconds behind the new leader due to track position, still pleased with the result as we also set the fastest lap and the cars in one piece, great experience and enjoyed the 888's
It felt a bit like Dunkirk against Ze Germans at the start with the first seven or so places taken up by BMW's and Porsches but the TVR did me proud so roll on Brands!
Got sent a couple of shots titled German Engineering very British Grit
Thanks Dimi

Running out of room!!!

get a fair bit of this in the future classics, best give them the benefit of doubt, maybe he didn't see the tvr !!
anyway, well done Christian, top drive to stay out of trouble

That's Dave Whelan in porch, owned by Porch UK and leased to Dave I believe, really nice chap, i have raced against him quite a few times. Tim you remember him from first time we were at Spa? He is from Ireland maybe they drive on the left there now
in his defence, they do drive like that all the time in Ireland. Its fookin scarey!
To be fair, its not at all clear from the photo alone whether the TVR is coming up the inside or the Porsche overtaking from the outside, we haven't seen the full sequence of events.
There's a couple of feet of space between the cars, too, so maybe not necessary to take to the grass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi Andy,
I watched the Porsche come right across the track trying to shut the door but was too late and continued to move over until Christian was on the grass then the Porsche moved back I thought they had actually touched, no harm done but it has happened to me there by the orange m3 last year and it does scare you a bit, I know your allowed one move to defend but I have never liked that move as it just looks so blatant, the Porsche is hoping to force the back out but Christian is a tenacious little bugger and was up for it.
all good fun and good racing but the officials are definitely sharper this season on this sought of thing, they didn't give a s
t last season at Donny when the white Porsche made six defensive moves on the pit straight, lucky I didn't tap his arse into the pit wall on the sixth move!!was very tempting, no one said a thing and no apology from the driver either!!

I was not complaining about anyones driving and had a great day and very much enjoyed the experience but if you want to see the full sequence of events i'll happily post the video, and as for not taking to the grass i think if you move me over the distance i'm of track we would of been hitting each other especially if you take into account i did not know how far over the Porsche was coming before stopping, so i would of thought avoiding contact was the preferred option for all involved but i've only been racing a year so happy to be corrected by someone more experienced There's a couple of feet of space between the cars, too, so maybe not necessary to take to the grass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you will know from the drivers brief I am trying to reinforce the view that we need to treat each other with respect and that contact is unacceptable.
