If you have a few moments spare I would be grateful for an opinion.

I have just sold my V70 and now have £6k to spend on an occasional weekend trackday car but one which is big enough/comfortable enough to drive over to France with a bit of camping gear and booze. Like for instance I would use it for Le Mans Classic in a few weeks then sprint over to Geneva for a bit of sight seeing.

I have looked at Megane 225/230 R26 also Vauxhall VXR models and VW GTi. I've had a go round Bedford in a Supra R which was brilliant.

I like them all in different ways but nothing makes me press Buy it Now!

Is there any other car I should consider bearing in mind all the requirements of the car?

With a 6k budget I would get a Megane or Clio if you want FWD and an MX5 if you want RWD, keep the rest of the cash to ensure it is mechanically sound and has decent brakes (consider fluid / pad change as a minimum).
