One of the best races of the year coming up and fresh off the back of Le Mans.

But...

Does anyone know where it is being shown this year? Why is everything other than F1 so damn hard to watch!

Well done that man!

I'm guessing at dark they will just switch to fixed pit lane cameras? So annoying!

Think it was 54 at Le Mans.

54 at Le Mans this year? LM is 13km, N24 is only about double, so it gets crowded.

The TV coverage goes to pit lane camera when it gets dark and comes back mid-morning from memory. Before then it's quite a good race to watch.

Felix Baumgartner (Red Bull Stratosphere) is racing an Audi, so Audi TV might also be showing the race. I've embedded the live stream in case.

There used to be as many as 225 starters. Recession cut that back.

190 registered to start this year

Can't wait to get out there - such a good event.

I see Manthey appear not to have entered a frontline car this year

None of the 4 entries appear to have any likely winners among the driver line up

My favourite race if the year - even above Le Mans. And as already said, they usually have a fixed camera during the night.

And slightly disappointed about no top Manthey Porsche entry, especially the green/ yellow car. I presume they're busy running the 991 GT3 RSR in the WEC.

I'm still working out if there's a live Sport1.de stream of the race. I'll ask in the German PH forum.

Car #80, the RJN/ Nissan car, has a seriously strong driver line up! Nick Heidfeld, Alex Buncombe (accompanied Mr Harris in the Jag on the Mille Miglia IIRC), GT Academy/ZEOD driver Ordonez and Florian Strauss. One to watch. Great to see the Manta is taking part this year, no Audi A8 however. As said above, very difficult to pick an outright favourite for the win.

I wonder if the reason for top Manthey car is the fact that Porsche bought the team?

Things are ramping up at the Ring. Camp sites are getting busy and music went late into last night (about 3am). The scale of the event is impressive.

Massive shame Sean Edwards isn't around to defend his epic win last year frown

Last few laps being chased by Maxime Martin (I think) in a BMW Z4 was just epic.

Ha! That'd be awesome, wouldn't it?

Regrettably, out there, as in, at the circuit, drinking bier, eating sausages and emitting occasional 'ooh there's a car' noises biggrin

In addition to the information from "nsa" above, some ways to see the qualifying and racing live:

Live stream is on http://www.24h-rennen.de/en/live/

There also appears to be a Youtube stream that was running the first qualifying session live:

http://youtu.be/zXcytla1Oqo

I hope that will also be the link for the subsequent qualifying events and the live race, but if not, I'll try to update the link.

Very useful if you need to watch the events unfold on a mobile device, as these have a Youtube app, which is easier that messing about with a mobile browser and entering long URL's.

As ever, there is also a live audio stream on Le Mans radio at http://www.radiolemans.com

Cheers,
Steve

Had great fun following the practise & qualifying sessions yesterday thanks to Radio Le Mans, Twitter and the video coverage.

Supporting the #195 JotaSport Mazda MX5 which has Stefan Johansson as one of the drivers. smile
