Another huge Indy crash
Discussion
Mikhail Aleshin had a big crash in practice at the Fontana track. Initially knocked unconscious he regained consciousness and was airlifted to a nearby medical centre, complaining of pain in his right shoulder and foot.
As we've seen in other oval races recently the fence gave way, not as bad as the Nationwide race at Daytona last year, but nevertheless its not good.
Glad to hear he is (relatively) ok, it could have been much, much worse given the number of other cars in the vicinity.

ETA: Update from Marshall Pruett
@mikhailaleshin update: fractured ribs, broken right clavicle, concussion and chest injuries. He's listed in serious but stable condition.

was that a case of the car on the apron taking air from the faster car or maybe was it dropping fluids?
I was looking for the cause and to me it looked like he actually put the front left tyre down below the white line onto the apron. I assume that the change in banking between the track, and the apron below the white line, which he was slightly across, upset the balance of the car and span him roundGassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
