That really looked a nasty crash that.

Glad someone put that padding there or we would be morning him rather than wishing him well.

"I'm on the mend, a few upgrades to me hand and back but feel right enough. All part of the job boy. Need a bit of rest but think I'll be back at work by Tuesday. Thanks very much for all the support as always."

That quote is on his own Facebook page and twitter account. His sister said in the local paper in Grimsby that they've already had him out of bed for physio!!

Tough nut to crack it seems...

Not sure that padding would've saved him if he'd hit the tree. Road racing is madness - looks like the mud probably did the injuries; a nice bit of tarmac run-off and he'd have likely got straight up and run back to the bike.
