I am changing tyres sizes from 285-660-18 over to 285-650-18.

What difference will the lower profile make to the feel of the car and the gearing? I have got it in my head it won't make a blind bit of difference to gearing or the feel of the car as I am staying with the same compound. Can any one with more experience than me , offer some thoughts, as I have an important race coming up, I want to do well in and have no surprises LOL biggrin

Hi Perry.

We have used both 650 andd 660 profile with 285s and cant say Ive noticed a difference... maybe a yard or two gear changes but to be honest you probably won't even notice...

Are you out with dtec at all this year? We should be at Mallory!

Dave Hi,
Hope you and Emma are ok and enjoying the weather tup north ? Debbie says hello.
Did you find the lower profile heated up any differently or came up to a higher pressure from cold ? Sounds like not much to choose between the two as I suspected. I love these 285's very much.

Hi Perry.

We are fine thanks and the sun is shining down today!! Sat in hospital now Em is here till baby arrives! Will be getting waters broke later today...

Anyway, tyres! I noticed no difference in temps or pressures just set them the same! Dinlop told me for this size and cars of our weight around 28/29 hot
