daft music on rally video

Thought I would catch up on what's happening in Wales WRC. Clicked on a vid of today's stages , good footage but some editing nutter had deciided to overlay with loud infuriating daft music. Loud enough to completely drown the "car sounds" .This is becoming an epidemic in the coverage of our sport and I cannot understand why. I may be classified as an OAP but I don't think I'm alone in enjoying the sound of cars being driven hard as well as the obvious visual thrills. No one in right mind would consider playing the sound of loud reving engines as a background to a musical concert so why play ( daft , irritating , stupid ) music over car engines. Is it just me or do other fans find this madness annoying. Currently motor rally leads the way in these music overlays but the rest of the Motorsport world is disappointingly catching up. Why why why ? I fear in the future I'll be watching with the mute button pressed so I can at least appreciate the sights if not the noise of our sport. Rant over . Does this bother onyone else I wonder?

Yup- infuriating . But not a new phenomenon by any means - rallying and racing film/video right back to the 50s fall victim to the same thing. Mind you,whilst losing the sound of a Stratos or RS 1800 is a tragedy , missing the sound of a wheezy turbo 4 is no great loss....
