Britcar want to bring endurance racing back to the UK. Teams wanted longer races and great grids so with this is in mind we created the Dunlop Endurance Championship.
The 2016 season will be made up of 8 weekends of 8 races with 7 to count towards the Championship. To help teams control the rising costs of motorsport we aim for all these to be one day meetings saving on hotels etc. Race lengths will range from 2 – 4 hrs at Britain’s Finest Circuits plus a Non-Championship 4 hr race at Spa Francorchamps.
Cars will be categorised in one of five classes. The new system of classification will provide a more complete vehicle performance indicator, ensuring that you are racing against other cars of a similar lap time and not just similar engine power.
The Dunlop Production Championship has been specifically formulated to bring Production Cars back into the Britcar Endurance package.
Motorsport is an expensive sport so to save teams and drivers the cost of hotels etc we have tried to build the production championship around 1 day meetings. The 2016 season will be made up of 8 weekends of 16 races with 13 to count towards the Championship. 6 out of the meetings will consist of 2 x 50 mins, 1 round will be 3 x 50 mins and to finalise the Championship we 1 x 50 min Night Race at Brands Hatch on the Indy Circuit. Everyone’s favourite last round of the season!!!. Plus the drivers will have the opportunity to do a Non-Championship 4 hr race at Spa Francorchamps.
Cars will be categorised in one of three classes, using the unique classification system. This uses not just the peak BHP / weight but also torque and modifications used on the vehicles. The new system of classification will provide a more complete vehicle performance indicator, ensuring that you are racing against other cars of a similar lap time and not just similar engine power.
Full details of the new packages are now available from the website:

Tyres are Dunlop race slicks or wets, as provided on site, but your BMW would most certainly fit one of the classes.
Entry fees I don't think will be finalised until Autosport show in January but feel free to email Claire now - address on the contact page. I know it was her aim to keep them similar to this season.
