An interesting weekend, got knocked off in the first race - by a bloody Marcos ! And then the second race was red flagged just after we`d got past the same Marcos for 3rd place. As the results go back a lap the plastic bathtub was saved by the stoppage ! Every cloud has a silver lining though. Full race report :

Can`t wait for the return match with Belcar at Zolder

Ah Henry old chap, we didn't want to reveal this in public but now you've forced us to................... we have been hankering after the silver paint on your car since you had the lurid orange covered over but we've been a bit too tight to have the respray so we thought that we could 'trade' paint, you could have the blue and yellow and we'd have your silver we were trying to do it on the sly but seems you've caught us out!

Sorry to have you on the end of one of our Marcos, though glad that we had a good battle in race two. The Harrison Marcos is veeeeeery close on BHP with you guys so it was more about driver ability than brute force on the straights.

Though having read your report on your website I can can confirm that the plastic bathtubs do indeed have the odd mechanical issue wittness the no. 43 we have struck the mother load of bad luck so far with her
At least we got a 1, 2 in class in race two for our efforts. Roll on Snett..................

Now even you would have to admit that 2nd place came by the skin of your teeth. I was bouncing up and down when I saw Pete coming into Clearways ahead of Jon`s Marcos only to instantaniously hear the tannoy announce Harry`s demise into the gravel and subsequent red flag. So whilst we finished ahead on track the race was wound back a lap ! As the great Kylie said, you should be so lucky !

It`s certainly a great race series, I think James will have to cast class boundaries in stone at some stage, probably based on kg / bhp once we know exactly who`s competing.

Re: the 24hr race we are a fully paid up confirmed entrant and I have already packed my toothbrush / spare pants and 2 cans of Redbull in readiness.

The 1, 2 was indeed most fortunate. Having been on the end of count backs in the past it sucks to have a place taken off you through no fault of your own.

I'd like to think that the luck we had with the blue Marcos was the Yin to the Silver Marcos Yang of poor luck.

The class rules will at some point have to be fixed though how you do so has been the topic of conversation/debate for some time and it's a tough nut to crack. As James builds the series up to a level that continues to attract sponsors, TV, larger crowds etc. then the classes will have to be fixed otherwise the 'club' banner will be a hard one to shift.

See you up at Snet.

Cheers

Fixing class rules in BritCar? Surely you jest? We get upgraded more times than Richard Branson and Henry's sunk so low he's flying EasyJet!

Henry as Ride of the Day?

I'd thought of him in terms of Best of Breed or Most Improved Hound but not as Ride of the Day!!!
