Another motorsport programme sacrificed on the altar of F1. Aston produce sportscars and belong in GT racing as a factory entry. F1......No, absolutely not.

At least the article mentions continued support for GT3 and GT4 programmes , in Blancpain and other regional

championships presumably.

I was expecting that they would take part in the new LMP1 category with the valkyrie or something similar.

No surprise gte has been dead for years ever since bmw and ford left. When you have a growing gt3 category why not use that and have a way bigger variety of cars. Never got the need for gte in the first place tbh.

Was always likely after they pulled withdrew the Valkyrie proposal from the LMDh regs.

I've always thought that they've tried to cost people out with GTE. With DTM moving to GT3, it's surely only a matter of time that the ACO move to GT3.

It would seem that obvious way forward.. but then we would have the ACO and the SRO having to work together. That’d be fun.

I bloody hope so even if they kept gte pro and the ams as gt3 but having both gte seemed stupid with such little manufactures in gte compared to the huge amount of gt3 cars.

But they've got plenty willing to enter GTE am, it's the factories not wanting to fund GTE pro that's the issue
