Anyone else here go this weekend?
I thought is was fab.
Highlights
GT40's hammering round Copse, looked brilliant as they elegantly drifted round the corner.
Jag xjr11 lapping getting on for the entire field.
Watching the ERA driver wrestle his car round Club lap after lap
Formula 5000 cars roaring past me a bridge
The whole historic racing saloon race which although it was last on the bill was one of the best races of the day. Watching Anglias hoof if past a galaxy drifting all four of its wheels around Lufield before it blasted back past them getting onto woodcote.
And much much more
Great fun

I was there and absolutely loved it!
Race of the day for me was the ERA, Bugatti's, Coopers etc and you're right, Mark Gillies in the ERA drove the socks off of it

Close second was the Historic Saloons which was well worth hanging on for!
Can't wait until Sunday when I'll be trundling on up to Prescott to see the Vintage & Sports Car Club hillclimb which means more ERA's

My sister was watching from Copse and saw a very nasty accident. The driver rolled, was dragged along upside-down - this was in an open top racer with no rollbar, with him only half out of the car.
Please can anyone confirm if the driver was OK?
Must have been for the BRDC historic race. I was round at Abbey when it got red flagged but didn't know why.
The marshalls, at abbey, were so far away from the track that only some of the drivers saw the red flag the rest had major brown racesuit moments trying to avoid the rapidly slow cars exiting the corner.
Like you I hope nobody was serious injured.

I did both Saturday and Sunday and thought both were excellent. The tin tops were especially entertaining through the complex. Pity they couldn't find a Fiat 600 Arbarth to go with the yank tanks. If they had I could have time-warped all the way back to the 60's!
Well, maybe not quite - the 'facilities' seemed somethat improved compared to those I remember back then.
Apart from the F5000's which were very load and very coarse, this Tiger had one of the loudest and most inspiring exhaust noises I heard all weekend. Pity they parked up on just about the muddiest spot I saw!

The BRDC confirmed that the driver was taken to the local hospital in a farily bad way, with serious but not life threatening injuries. He's recovering, which is good.
