Does anyone know the ins and outs of refueling at the Britcar 24 hour race, I know it's in the Grand Prix support pit lane and that we have to use regular pumps attached to the Tesco Truck!

But is it absolutely forbiden to use a dry break refueling system with dump churns even if it is in the same area and the same fuel??

Having trouble trying to find out exactely what the score is on this one and was wondering what other teams interpretations of the rules where. We're new to the whole 24 hour game and just want to get it right so if anyone can help that would be ace, Cheers!!

In the interest of sportsmanship

You are indeed alowd to fuel using either, dry break or conventional methods. However, if you use dry break it is not permitted to have the churn carrying any fuel before you open the nozzle from the tanker. So you would be filling straight into the dump churn and then into your car in one stream so to speak. For what its worth I know allot of experienced Nurbring 24hr teams use this method. Which ever option you choose you will be compromised so I guess it depends which one suites your exact situation best.

What 'bothers' me is that you will have only a set number of pumps available.

What happens if the Safety Car gets deployed and everyong needs fuel at the same time, Will you queue up?
Does the Fueling area close for the 1st lap the SC is out?
If you've fueled do you then have to go to the main pit lane for a driver change or can it be done in the Support pit area?
Who provides the fire cover?
Pit Safety is paramount, but I am concerned about the refueling aspect of this race, the support pits are small and tight compared to the F1pitlane.

Surely asking these questions to the organisers would be time better spent than on here? You might get definative answers that way...

Could be quite fun at the pumps if their is a fuel crisis.

Everyone queing up whilst the diesel just puts in lap after lap.

I hope they`ve got a Ginsters chiller and a Slush Puppy machine. Possibly a Coffee Nation machine for a Latte to pop in the cup holder.

The Nectar card will get a good tickle.

Some of those Peperami sticks would be great. Coupled with a can of coke you`d be burping Peperami into your helmet for the whole of the next stint, no getting away from it.

If they let you keep your helmet on they will sell loads more porn from the top shelf, people won`t feel so embarassed. They`d better include a little bit of material for the ladies out there as well !
