WEC Spa 6 hours - attending tips
Discussion
Planning to visit the WEC Spa 6 hours with my family and friends.
In the wider group there are several 6-7 year olds (sort of a dress rehearsal for LM24 in near future).
Looking at tickets, seemingly you can only buy General Admission (and Paddock), but no specific stands.
Anyone been? Is it first come first serve? Would be keen to have some fixed seats in case younger ones get tired / bored.

Seats are unreserved in the stands, busy at the start of the race but easy to come by at other times. The stands on the Eau Rouge side are the ones to go for, the start/ finish straight is the only dull part of the track, otherwise, walk as much of the track as you can, and get there early on race day, preferably to one of the gates at the southern end of the circuit. And standard Spa advice about taking clothes for all eventualities, last year was lovely weather, on the other hand I’ve woken up to several inches of snow on race day too.In the wider group there are several 6-7 year olds (sort of a dress rehearsal for LM24 in near future).

I stayed in Liege last year and drove to Spa, it's about 50 miles and be warned there were very long queues to get to the circuit car parks, which you should book ahead btw.
I think they (similar to COTA near Austin Texas which I also went to last year ;-)) run shuttles for F1 but not WEC,
This year we have rented a house that is walking distance to the circuit so we don't have to drive.
Spa is a brilliant circuit, much better for spectators than Le Mans (although I love LM and go every year),
My only bug bear was unlike Le Mans, (which is due to the thousands of Brits that attend the event),at Spa there is no English commentary and obviously no radio Le Mans, so sometimes hard to know what the hell is going on

I went with my son in 2025 and had a brilliant time.
Stayed in an AirBnB in Vielsalm about 1/2 hour drive from the circuit. Booked a parking ticket in advance, drove in from south of circuit and arrived early - maybe 10am ish and drove in without any queues at all. We had paddock access tickets so there was lots to see and do before the start of the race.
My tip would be to watch the start of the race from Eau Rouge/Radillion or the Kemmel Straight and then walk the circuit clockwise, that way its almost all downhill!
Spectating is brilliant as the walkways are above the track so even when you are moving from one spectating spot to another you can see the cars. I've done Le Mans a number of times but the crowds put me off nowadays, so we tried Spa and will definitely be back. It's an incredible circuit to experience 'live'.
Enjoy the trip, I hope you get the weather we had last year

Thank you. That s helpful.
Kinda damned if you do, damned if you don t.
Get there early, have youngsters wait for hours won t go well.
Not have any seats will also not go well.
The old saying holds true:
Expensive is better than not for sale
I'm not sure very young kids are well suited to endurance racing.Kinda damned if you do, damned if you don t.

The beauty of a 6 or more hour race is that you have time to walk the whole circuit and see the cars at many different places.
Spa is especially good for this.
If you want to watch the whole race from a comfy seat, honestly, just stay home and get the WEC app.
Expensive stands are for people who want to tell their friends they went to the F1.- 'Free is better than expensive'!
Long may they keep the WEC stand FOC
