Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie - 2026 thread
Discussion
Wanted to start this thread, as a certain F1 driver is getting involved as of late.
I've known about the series for a while due to a few you tubers, whom I've met, and help one with his channel, and this season hasn't gone that well in general.
Round 1 was called off due to snow, not unique but the weather closed in and said "No racing today"
Round 2 was a pretty decent affair with lots of battles through the grid of 130 cars in multiple classes.
Round 3 was yesterday.. and unfortunately after 30 mins or so of running an incident involving 7 cars occurred at T29 Steilstrecke which resulted in one driver's death, Juha Miettinen whom was a seasoned racer having done 20 years racing in the series. The race was understandably called off as a result.

Round 4 is today and will be live on YouTube for those wanting to catch it, however the events of yesterday will hang over the event.

Incredibly sad. I did not know the guy, but he’s known to a few of the guys I do Ring track days with. There’s a significant Scandi/Nordic contingent at most track days there, including their Scuderia Hanseat, so naturally, because the track community is one of common interests, people are often friends of friends.
RIP. A tragic, fluke event.

A truly sad situation for the driver who lost his life but all the others involved also.
I've been following the NLS for the last 5 years or so. its a brilliant race series. I'd love to go t the 24hr one year but having been in the area the week before the event I know how crazy it gets there to try and get any sort of accommodation, even a reasonable camping spot.
