It seems that Sir John Young Stewart may be ousted in a vote of no confidence. I do wonder whether it is sensible to build executive homes at Abbey....only Klaas Zwart has successfully teamed housing with racing and even then I'm not sure just how many units he has actually sold to anyone other than his mates.

Frankly, I'd rather see the GP lost than the third owner of the afore-mentioned Abbey executive home successfully close the circuit down on the grounds that it drowns out The Archers....

Does anyone know the full details of what the St Modwen deal actually means?

I don't think the plan was to actually build *that* close to the circuit, but in the light of the events at Castle Combe, it would seem that within about 1km of any circuit is sufficient for a person to be classed as 'close' to a racing circuit. Which means that people will expect an executive home at a discount as a trade-off for living close to a circuit, and then after a few months of living there will make a complaint to the local council about the noise from the local circuit!!! After that, Silverstone will be good only for a 95db trackday, on the second Wednesday of every alternate month, and it will be closely monitored by the council!

And we wonder why all of the GP's are going to Eastern and Asian countries??? Lack of bureacracy for a start.

As for JYS, I think he has traded on his name for far too long, and the business decisions should be left to the professionals. Someone like Ray Bellm... oh, hang on...

is it just me that finds it rather ironic that having managed to kill off Rockingham (in collusion with NCC), that is now owned by a housing developer, Silverstone is heading the same way….

There's a lot of accusation and counter-accusation about the whole Housing Development thing. There's belief from some that it's an extreme measure offered Moseley-style, to make another solution appear more attractive. Another school of thought (possibly those that don't want the 'other' solution) says it's ill-informed.

I'd be amazed if anyone would be stupid enough to give a Housing Development the go-ahead but then not much surprises me these days...
