With the Pistonfest going on, is this the first race meeting where the spectators turn up in the faster cars??

No. I saw a 2CV race amongst others at Ingliston in the early 90s. I drove there is a Mini 1275, which is considerably faster than a 2CV. It was impressive in the pits seeing one of the drivers (big lad) lift up a corner of his car to change a wheel !
