Because ITV will only show one race live.
Yep.
4 ITV Channels and only 1 live race. Pathetic.
I swore i'd never re-subscribe to Sky but since MotorsTV isn't FTA any more i might have to bite that particular bullet.

This raises the whole question of TV coverage of motorsport in the UK.
Frankly my dear it's awful!!. With the expertise in F1 and WRC that this country has, and must be a major industry, and all the knowledgable fans of these and many other international series why can't we have more motorsport on FTA TV?.
National motorsport gets almost zilch covearage yet its far more entertaining than some of the crap that is shown on Saturday/Sunday afternoons, last year Best of British Motorsport was on at 2 am Tuesdays with no fanfare so I guess few people watched it.
Rant over, but what can we do ? any suggestions?

Having looked through Motors TV listings for today, most of the good stuff is on it. Seat Cupra Cup, Formula Renault, BTCC, DTM and something else
I find that the shite shown on Terrestrial, is just that. I ditched Eurosport for BBC 2 yesterday for the Moto GP. I will be watching the next race on Eurosport. BBC 2 show the same picture, but I find the Eurosprt commentators far better to listen to. I recorded the race as I was just finishing work so I couldn't just change the channel.
Motors TV have also got LMES, I think they have the ALMS as well and Le Mans. Eurosports patchy coverage of Le Mans last year was pathetic. To busy with bloody tennis. From what I heard the DTM commentators say yesterday, Motors TV will be showing the full race.

Seriously though, with the BBC ditching most of its Sports coverage and keeping some football, and the athletics, and ITV taking on F1 and C4 the Cricket (have they still got that?) there isn't much room left for those of us into our motorsport. Patchy WRC coverage, One race BTCC Coverage, the only thing they give resonable airtime to is F1 and Moto GP. But even then I find the coverage of both to be crap.
As we all pay a licence fee to the BBC, it really is down to the BBC to provide the programming we want, and if that is motorsport, then so be it. A few letters to the top man might spark some interest, though i think a sustained campaign might be in order. The BBC have too much shite on anyway, apart from Top Gear and Hustle.

the trouble with sky is that it isn't worth it. I would only watch motorsport on it and I'm not prepared to pay for all the other crap, and have an ugly satellite dish on my house, and also just pay for shit tv when I could buy a book and read it instead.
If anyone ever says "rubbing is racing to me" after they have done it to me they'll get a fist in their face. Rubbing and pushing someone offline to get past shows not talent for overtaking.
Rob Collard was excluded from the 3rd race because of the incident with Matt Neal, but Neal only got past Collard in thr first place by barging his way past.

I am 100% with you on this...
to my mind this is just blatent cheating, and as for the Collard/Neal incident, that could have resulted in a VERY bad accident, for him to then say when interviwed that he did not know what happened to Neal is a joke.
do we have to wait for somebody to be seriously banged up before this is clamped down on?
