Hi all
Seriously thinking about going to Brands on the 28th for the BARC club race championship + classic thunder championship and pre 93 touring car races
Just wandered if anybody here has been to this before. If so is it as exiting as it looks on the Brands website?

For the last 3 years this ran as the CSMA Classic Festival. For some reason the CSMA aren't promoting it this year, which is a shame as they put some great stands/events on (I exhibited with SELOC in '04 and '05). The racing's very good as well.
Production BMW Championship has evolved from the SELOC BMW series that started at Lydden a couple of years ago - mainly Lotus owners that wanted to go RWD racing on a budget, as a result the racing is fantastic

I saw them at Thhruxton last saturday ! the easy on track BMW guys are a hoot to watch and the historic & pre 93 touring and the thunder championships are full of nice old metal and enthusiastic racers , I thought it was £12 well spent , I notice there is a bike race at brands instead of the 2 classic ff1600 & ff2000 races.
They dont show on the Brands site:

But If the classic ff1600 & 2000 are running then its gonna a great line up , I thought it looked a bit light !!!

It is a good one of you , you are looking right at the camera ! or see to be ,both these hae suffered weird artefacting/compression when here that not there in the image or on photobucket ???.
better luck in the next round ! the ff guys are always competative and give hard close racing.

delfto said:Go, and enjoy it, delfto. I went to the CTRCC races at Silverstone in March and thought they were great. The Classic Thunder was good with Camaros and Rovers up against Dave Brodie's stupidly quick Sapphire Cosworth. If you like Capris, Rovers, Escorts, Dolly Sprints, Jag XJs etc, you'll love it!

Here's some pics I took on the day.
I'll be racing on Sunday in the Classic Group 1 Touring Cars in a Silver Mk1 Golf. I can't wait!
It's been a dissmal season for me so far: running out of fuel at Silverstone, Blowing and engine at Snetterton and going through all the expense and pain of getting it re-built, wrecked the engine again at Mallory after a water pipe burst and the engine fried
. After another re-build, I'm hoping Brands will be my big break!
