Anyone got more info on where the Trident Iceni diesel powered racecar has gone? It was at the photoshoot (although stationary) at the beginning of the season but havent seen or heard any reports of it in any of the races so far.
Are they leaving it for a grand unveiling at Snetterton on the 15th?

disapeared in a cloud of black smoke. TBO, dismals would have to be given some serious rule breaks (ACO style) to get them competitive in national motorsport.

We shared a garage with it at the press day - Shorty and I chuckled to ourselves that their truck looked a bit smokey, then realised it was the car...

Well the project is still on going but I have not spoken to Phil for a while.

The latest news is that a new race is being built and the Team have sponsorship from a major UK National Company although the debut of the car will be timed when the sponsor decides I can confirm that one of the drivers will be Enzo Mucci the other seat is unfilled at the moment and potential drives should contact me direct on that one.

The car I saw at the end of 2005 needed ALOT more work doing to it to be competitive.

I didn't hold out much hope for it at that point. I still don't if I'm honest. To make something like that be successful would take the backing of a manufacturer.

It still amazes me that people put money into these sort of projects. I think it's great, don't get me wrong. But for what going racing costs anyway, spending even more trying to get an unknown quantity running, let alone competitive...

OK, let me rephrase that, a well funded and technically advanced manufacturer.
Trident are hardly in the same league as VAG or Peugeot, are they?

And as I said, the car I saw wasn't going to be competitive, in any way. It needed work, lots of it.
I'll be pleased if it comes out again, but I won't hold my breath. But good luck to them.
