Mmmmmm. Nothing really catches my eye there. Maybe the Radicals.

Brands looks good - just a touch too far.

The Radical's can be a bit boring, if very quick. On the other hand, the MX'5 are quite slow (relatively) but offer very close racing...

Plus, it's free into Sillystone. See the other thread on this section.

If you have the faintest interest in old cars, then on Sunday:

VSCC Mallory is fantastic: FJuniors for the fast stuff, Pre-55 racers, Edwardian racers (and being RACED). Eye-opening stuff and a great meeting to sample the VSCC brigade. Look out for the Napier Bentley - 27 litres of Aero Special trying to 'land' on Stebbe Straight.

Prescott: Bugatti Owners Club Meeting. Key feature is a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the first Cooper appearance. More than 50 Coopers on display or climbing, and may include T3, the second prototype (not seen for perhaps 50 years) and oldest known racing Cooper.

God, don't do Brands, Combe told the F3's to go away because of lack of numbers!!

On saturday I'm going to Gaydon. There's a collection of DBS V8 there.
On sunday I'm off to mAllory. It IS the Vintage sports car club. Worth it just to watch a 1907 Grand Prix car, on artillery wheels and with an 18 litre 4 cylinder engine slide around the hairpin. Great stuff!

Bloody hell, that sounds good.
Mallory is just down the A47 from me, about 20mins away from me in Leicester.

Just need to get the Living Room decorated in time...

Do go, everyone should experience the VSCC at least once. Fantastic cars (you know its special when 'pre-War' means the Great War, not the replay), not only on-track but many supporters in the paddock and a few up by the Hairpin. The drivers don't hang about, even with the oldest machines.
We're normally there in an invitation race, though not this year. It may not be as much fun as Cadwell VSCC, but you get great viewing all around Mallory. And with so much to see in the Paddock (and if you catch them at the right time, most are more than happy to have a few words) on top of the racing, you'll find it a really full day. At £12, it's a steal. Pack a camera, and buy a programme.

One tip - there aren't many places to escape the sun at Mallory, so pack the suncream. And worst case, you can watch from the car with the air conditioning on.

If you don't mind a bit of a drive, I am running in the round of the WA State Sprint Championship on Sunday, at the AHG track at Perth Airport

As said, If you can get to see the VCSS, then go.

I Marshalled 3 events of theirs in June: Harewood, Oulton and Loton Park - and they are a great bunch, and certainly dont treat the cars with kid gloves.

Look on the back of the Napier Bentley - "if driven sensibly, report as stolen!" which says it all really. (and the sight of it on track without the silencers with it's 12 headers bealching fire on the over run heading into the corners - is something to feel.

Not to mention the drivers of the ERA's and Riley's nose to tail and 4 wheel drifting round the bends.

great day out.
