Interesting motorsport was the BTCC that followed it on ITV.
Good too see Renault not wining in Hockenheim though. I'm all for any result that makes the championship battles closer.
for the race, and we need some kind of 'can't be arsed to post a thread about today's GP' smilie... Two points of note though...
1) Great move by Raikkonen, he didn't take any isht today
2) Did you see how empty the grandstands were??? The only one that had a decent crowd was the Mercedes stand, and they were only there because (a) it was a freebie, and (b) the probably would have got their P45's if they didn't turn up.
So, a poor attendance at the home GP of the most successful GP driver of all time (by stats) and in the country which supposedly has the biggest fanbase in Europe. Tells you a lot about the state of F1 'racing'

That'll only be interesting if they ever learn how to race and overtake without having to knock the other car out of the way first. There is going to be a big crackdown on contact in the BTCC, I don't know when but all the drivers complain about it and say something must be done. I doubt Alan Gow will have the balls to do anything in case it effects the "spectacle" - for spectacle see "revenue".

Sadley I fear the only time they'll crack down on the appauling driving standards in chav racing , sorry BTCC is when they kill someone, which if they carry on as they are will happen...

There is contact in most forms of tin-top racing, all that varies is the degree permitted by the rules. And 90% of the drivers are very careful in how they drive, with no 'abuse' of the contact rules...there are just a few who push the rules, such as Plato, Collard, and that Irishman who left last season (pushed because he was TOO aggressive?!?). Your comment above is very ill-informed.
I would also argue that the close racing permitted by tin-tops that WON'T retire after simple contact is more interesting and more of a spectacle than single-seaters. Certainly the amount of overtaking yesterday in one 16-lap race was greater than the whole of the F1 race over 3x the time/distance.
Oh..and TOCA is a computer game, not a race series.

There certainly is (was?) a game called TOCA somethingorover, but unless Alan Gow has renamed it, TOCA used to be the governing body for the BTCC championship - acronym was something like TOuring Car Association - Can anyone confirm that?

Don't know really, the Renaults ahve been going backwards for the last few races even with the dampers in place.. Kimi could have been up there if it wasn't for the botched pitstop..
Reckon Renault did a Ferrari with Fissi too yesterday

Funny that. Ferrari/FIA are now doing to Renault exactly what they used to do to McLaren: Ferrari tries to copy something the other team has and can't quite manage to perfect it, so goes off to the FIA for a rules 'clarification'. The previously legal component is subsequently declared illegal.
These days they're not even being underhand about it - it's clear favouritism. What's even funnier in this instance is that the FIA is now appealing the decision of its own stewards. Amazing...
The BTCC was quite funny. Was watching it with a mate and we were both surprised at how well-behaved they all seemed in race 1 - then in race 2 it all went crazy... It's a shame because they displayed great racecraft on a few occasions, then suffered massive brain fade on others. Thought Plato's criticism of Neal's 'banger racing' tactics was a bit pot/kettle.

I think its more to do with the fact that Michelin are not investing as much into tyres now. All Bridgestone Runners faired well yesterday.

As a racing driver in a closed wheel series inlcuding tintop cars I think Graham is very well informed of good driving standards.
