Formula 1 testing is taking place at Silverstone in a few weeks - 19th-21st September.

I don't know which teams are going, but it is well worth a visit and usually free.

In theory yes. Last year we were able to walk round the entire circuit, and no one said anything even though there were staff about.

There were also pit and paddock passes available from the club house at woodcote (I think) for £10.

At the last test in June me and my friend went for two of the three days.

We walked all around the circuit and found a little back way into the paddock, and then the pits!! All free of charge lol!!!

We ended up in the McLaren garage entrance and were treated as VIP guests. We watched Montoya in his garage and were stood on the pitlane watching cars coming in and out for about half an hour.

We then spent the next few hours milling around the pits and saw various drivers such as Alonso, DC (who is a well grumpy git!), Neil Jani, Mark Webber etc very very close up.

If anyone wants to meet me there in Sept so I can tell you how to attempt this little scam again (it can go wrong, quite easily, its all about timing really) then they will be most welcome.

Yours cheekily, FunkyR

Them passes only got you into the paddock this year, and they sold out well quick!!

Mclaren, Williams, Toyota, Spyker, Super Aguri and Renault were there today.

Some pics here...

Security was fairly light so you could wander round the entire circuit as long as you go clockwise.

I'm going on Thursday. I'll post my photos as soon as I get chance to upload them after that.

Lewis Hamilton quicker than De La Rosa today, he's getting up to speed nicely

What about Piquet Junior though, topping the timesheets and beeting Kovalainnen (sp?) in the process!
