Had an enjoyable time at silverstone today. It was my Dads 70th so we treated him to a day out & meal in the BRDC club house whilst watching the racing. Damon Hill was being interviewed on the next table.

But incident with the karts - Took the medics a while to sort some guy out. A screen was erected & the neighburing stand was emptied, so must have been serious. Does anybody know the outcome?

I'm sorry to say I just heard on the radio that a man in his 50s died in a kart accident at Silverstone today.

However I also feel the need to express how much I enjoyed the WHT today, even though it ended behind the safety car. Much better than the poxy Grand Prix meeting. I stood below Damon Hill as he was being interviewed on the podium. Grids of thirty-six which you see come past every minute on the short circuit, and the sight of them coming down the pit straight jockeying for position in the final race with the sun setting behind was wonderful.

A race collegue of ours was killed in the final laps of the final race of the season.

Our heart felt condolences goes out to all his close friends and family.
