new BARC Dunlop Sport Max championship

a genuine stepping stone to BTCC? looks interesting, should be quite good fun if they get the grid numbers. i like the bhp/tonne class structure, should provide some interesting battles. only problem is the afge of the cars eligable 2002+ and a year on each year ruling thus only cars built within the last five years are allowed. might put off a few with smaller budgets but should be intersting to see peoples cars of choice for each class. 206s, Saxos, Clios or something bigger?

I doubt it. Triple 8 are in it to sell bits and prepared cars for the series. They have never in the history of their team taken a driver for BTCC without touring car experience. If they were serious about taking someone from this series then why not offer that upfront? Either that or the winner will be offered a test and then the chance to drive a old car to mid-field results.
