not taking part, but keeping a close eye on my mate who has relocated to the US and will be taking part for the 2nd time...
He mailed me the other day to say that testing is looking very good...

Yep, I did back in the 80s/90s. Fortunate to win our class in 89. Great fun and tough event.

Obi, I know the guys who run the Team Seattle cars, Synergy Racing. I was lucky enough to spend a race weekend with them at the end of 2005 in Mexico City.

If anyone is interested in Daytona & the Grandam series then try having a look at www.garra-fans.com - the site is run by fans and has a great forum where drivers and team members post.

This years 24 is going to be a hard one to win with so many top line drivers being involved, not just from the sportscar racing world but openwheel & Nascar too.

Sadly I don't think they'll be any TV coverage in the UK but there will be live audio via the official Grandam website at www.grand-am.com.

thanks thats great...
Chris Pennington is one of the drivers...went to college with him and he is the reason started watching on motor sport...he took to me to F3 meet one weekend at Thruxton to watch some guys called "Mika Hakkinen and Mika Salo" battling it out !!!since then been hooked
