Racing Suit Age

Been through the 2007 blue book trying to find the age limit of my Nomex suit and can't find any specification other than the correct numbers. Is it 5 years?

I may be wrong but i though it was only the proban suits that are lifed as the coating wears off. As I understood with nomex its the actual material thats fireproof. As there is no date anywhere on my suit Im assuming i can use it as long as the norm 86 standard is valid...

Graham, thanks, that's what I thought. My doubt came from a scrutineer who mentioned an age limit when checking my overalls last year. They are only 3 years old and have all the right numbers. Thanks John

I thought the above but with a max 10 year age/supercession rule, but I can't find a max in the blue book either.

They cant be aged as there is no manufacture date in my suit anywhere..

I think the way they do it is to age the standard rather than the individual suits. That seems to be how it's done with lids, anyway.
